Tours of Nursery and School

Please see the information below for admissions to Nursery, Reception and the rest of the School. If you
would like to visit school before applying, please contact the school office on 0161 7484362 or email
admin@urmstonprimaryschool.com to make an appointment. Our Head, Mr Parker, will be very
happy to show you around.
For Reception and Nursery places starting in September, we will arrange tours before the closing dates for
applications in the January. Several tours will be arranged between September and December and
the dates will be advertised on the website or you can call school for the dates and to book on.

Main School

Pupil admissions into our classes from Reception to Year 6 are maintained by Trafford Council. This
includes admissions for new Reception children starting school in September along with in-year
admissions (including any waiting lists where places aren’t available).

Nursery

Nursery admissions are governed and managed by Urmston Primary School. Places are offered to
children for the September after their 3rd birthday and are either 5 morning or 5 afternoon sessions
(15 hours) or both (30 hrs). Please see the information in the Admissions Policy below and complete
the Application Form if you would like to apply for a place. The closing date for applications is the
31st January for a start the following September. Forms should be completed and emailed to
admin@urmstonprimaryschool.com or dropped off at the school office.

Nursery Charges

Please see the Admissions policy below for details of charges that apply in Nursery. The current
charges are listed below: -
a. 15-hour universal place (Morning or Afternoon) - Free
b. Additional 15 hour extended hours place (Morning and Afternoon) - Free
c. Additional ‘top-up’ 15 hours - £18 per day
d. Lunch time period between morning and afternoon sessions where child is entitled
to a 30-hour place or is allocated a ‘top-up’ place and does not go home for that
period - £3 per day
e. Materials or equipment – the supply or use of materials and other equipment or
learning resources that are necessary for the effective delivery of childcare – Free
f. Optional school trips or activities/workshops led by external providers. Voluntary
Contribution as per the school Charging Policy – Variable Charge depending on he
cost of the trip/activity/workshop
